Applying for support from NACC?

Make sure your organization meets the following requirements:

  • Organizations must be a public or private K-12 school, located in Akron, Ohio.
  • Applicant must be able to provide proof of employment within their school district.
  • Organizations applying for support must have a primary focus or specific program focused on addressing one of NACC’s core focuses: Focus on Building Community, Keep Akron Beautiful, Children’s Health & Wellness, and supporting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
  • Programs should demonstrate affordability and sustainability, a lasting impact on the community and a significant and measurable outcome.

Areas of Funding

NACC supports three main areas for grant funding. Please review the below categories below to ensure your organization falls within our funding areas.

  • Children’s Health & Wellness: Projects and causes whose mission is primarily focused on improving the physical, social, and emotional wellbeing of youth, 0-18, through education, arts, athletics, or out of/after school programming
  • Focus on Building Community: Projects that display commitment to reaching out to the surrounding community and building bridges between the schools, local residents, local businesses and local organizations.
  • Keep Akron Beautiful: Projects that seek to improve the city through tackling issues such as litter, pollution, bio diversity, and aesthetics.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Organizations committed to breaking down systemic barriers, increasing access to equitable opportunities, advancing racial equality and promoting justice

Every year, the NACC Teaching Grant is evaluated to ensure the program is making the largest impacts in our core focus areas, and sometimes this means organizations that previously qualified are no longer eligible. While we wish we could support all organizations that apply, we cannot guarantee any applicant a financial donation.

Guidelines

  • Applications are accepted into the program between August 1st and September 15th each year.
  • Community grants range from a minimum of $250 to a maximum of $2,000.
  • Applications are reviewed as they are received, and we’ll make every effort to review and respond to all requests in a timely manner.
  • Organizations can only receive funding once per calendar year.
  • Organizations that have been denied funding previously may reapply the next following year.
  • Even if an organization has received funding in the past, the organization must reapply if they wish to be considered again for funding.
